Charting frontiers of new science and technologies gives our clients a sense of purpose and hope that they can make a real difference in the lives of patients. We had the opportunity this fall to experience it ourselves. As they launched new medicine, we launched the future of sales training. The unmet need in the IBS-D space is immense, and our client was launching a new drug with enormous potential for that exact reason. But showing the field force that sense of urgency, the struggle, the toll of living everyday in pain and fear, was a whole different problem.
A new drug as important as this needed the most well-trained field representatives, and the most impactful and innovative sales training in the industry. We designed a multi-faceted, blended learning experience with iPad interactivity side-by-side with a fully immersive VR simulation of life with IBS-D.
In a time span of less than two hours, a total of 2,868 virtual reality experiences were had by hundreds of sales representatives in an unprecedented effort to achieve patient empathy. When surveyed, an overwhelming majority of respondents (88.7%) said they wanted to see this technology in future workshops.
